- Register the agent blueprint with the Agent 365 CLI.
- Artemis channel configuration: create the connection, then copy its Webhook URL.
- Set the blueprint messaging endpoint to the Artemis Webhook URL.
- Publish and hire the agent in Microsoft 365.
- Verify the connection with a real conversation.
- The tenant ID and blueprint ID select the connection: Artemis builds the webhook endpoint from both values, and the summary panel shows them as
tenantId:blueprintId. You can’t change either one after creation, so recreate the connection to use a different blueprint. - Overwrite the messaging endpoint, don’t append to it: When you register the blueprint with the Agent 365 CLI, the endpoint field already holds an
azurewebsites.netURL. Replace that whole value with the Artemis Webhook URL. - Microsoft approves every hire: A user requests an instance in Teams, and a tenant administrator approves it in the Microsoft 365 admin center. Artemis shows the connection as configured but awaiting first activity until Microsoft reports an installation.
- Agent 365 needs tenant enrollment: Enroll your tenant in the Microsoft Agent 365 Frontier program, or users can’t request an instance.
- Manage the secret from the Configuration tab: An Agent 365 connection has no Credentials tab. You enter and rotate the blueprint client secret in the Configuration tab.
- One tile for all connections: The channel list shows a single Microsoft Agent 365 tile. Create every Agent 365 connection from it.
Prerequisites
Confirm these before you start, because several steps need tenant-level roles.- A Microsoft 365 tenant enrolled in the Agent 365 Frontier program.
- A Global Administrator, or an Agent ID Developer with a Global Administrator available to grant consent and approve the agent.
- An Azure subscription with permission to create resources, plus the Agent 365 CLI and the Azure CLI installed.
- Artemis project access with permission to open Deployments -> Channels, and a deployed agent in the environment you intend to bind.
How Artemis routes Agent 365 activity
Microsoft 365 delivers each hired agent’s activity to the blueprint’s messaging endpoint, and that endpoint identifies the Artemis connection.Register the agent blueprint
Do this before you open Artemis. The Agent 365 CLI creates the blueprint in Microsoft Entra Agent ID and writes its values to a local file. Microsoft covers the same steps in Register an agent blueprint.1
Sign in to Azure
Sign in with an account that has the Global Administrator or Agent ID Developer role, and confirm the subscription.
2
Create the blueprint
Run setup from your project folder. Artemis hosts the agent, so you only need the blueprint, not a hosted app.Setup takes three to five minutes. A Global Administrator completes the consent prompt in the browser. An Agent ID Developer gets consent URLs to pass to a Global Administrator, and setup stays incomplete until those grants finish.
3
Collect the blueprint values
Setup writes the values Artemis needs to two files in your project folder.
Confirm
completed reads true in a365.generated.config.json before you continue. If the CLI stored the secret in protected form, create a new client secret for the blueprint in the Microsoft Entra admin center and use its Value.Artemis channel configuration
Create the connection before you set the messaging endpoint. Artemis generates the Webhook URL from the tenant ID and blueprint ID you enter.- Open Artemis and select the project.
- Go to Deployments -> Channels -> Microsoft Agent 365 -> + New. The New Microsoft Agent 365 Connection dialog opens. Select Setup instructions first if you want the in-product summary.
-
Configure the fields:
- Select Create.
- Copy the Webhook URL from the connection’s summary panel.
Set the blueprint messaging endpoint
Point the blueprint at Artemis. Use either the Teams Developer Portal or the CLI.- Teams Developer Portal
- Agent 365 CLI
- Open the blueprint configuration page, replacing the placeholder with your blueprint ID:
https://dev.teams.microsoft.com/tools/agent-blueprint/<blueprint-id>/configuration - Set Agent Type to API Based.
- Replace the whole Notification URL value with the Artemis Webhook URL.
- Select Save. Changes take five to ten minutes to propagate.
Publish and hire the agent
Publishing makes the agent available in your tenant. Hiring creates the instance that people talk to. See Publish your agent and Create an agent instance.1
Package the agent
Run
a365 publish. It writes your blueprint ID into manifest.json and packages it as manifest.zip.2
Upload it to the Microsoft 365 admin center
As a Global Administrator, go to Agents -> All agents -> Upload custom agent in the Microsoft 365 admin center, and upload
manifest.zip. The agent can take five to ten minutes to appear.3
Request an instance in Teams
In Teams, go to Apps, find the agent, and select Request Instance. Teams sends the request to your tenant administrator.
4
Approve the request
In the Microsoft 365 admin center, open Agents -> All agents -> Requested agents and approve the request. Teams then creates the instance.
Verify the connection
The connection’s status banner tells you whether Microsoft 365 has reached Artemis.- Open the connection. Before the first installation, the banner reads Configured, awaiting first activity.
- Hire the agent in Teams. If you set a Greeting message, confirm it arrives, and that the banner no longer shows awaiting first activity.
- Send a unique message to the agent, and confirm one reply from the intended environment.
- If you set a Closing message, remove the agent and confirm it arrives.
Security and lifecycle
The blueprint secret is the credential that matters, and each blueprint maps to one connection.- Client secret: Store it only in Artemis. Rotate it in Microsoft Entra before it expires, then enter the new value in the Configuration tab.
- Blueprint identity: To move a connection to another tenant or blueprint, create a new connection. The identity values are part of the webhook endpoint.
- Consent: Grants for Microsoft Graph and the Messaging Bot API need a Global Administrator.
- Environments: Use separate blueprints, secrets, and connections for development and production.
Manage the channel connection
Open a connection from Deployments -> Channels -> Microsoft Agent 365 to manage it. The page has a header, two tabs, and a summary panel on the right. The connection has no Credentials tab. Manage the client secret in the Configuration tab. Header. Shows the connection name, its environment badge, its status, and when it last changed. Pause stops traffic, and the … overflow menu holds the other connection-level actions. Summary panel. Stays visible on every tab.- Configuration
- Deployment
The status banner at the top shows whether Microsoft has reported an installation, and lists any outstanding steps.
Select Save to apply your changes.

Most failures trace to the messaging endpoint or a missing approval.Microsoft reference
